Revive Us Again!
Once again Christian Education and Publication (CE&P) and Mission to North America (MNA) have joined forces in calling our denomination to 50 Days of Prayer for our General Assembly.
For 2006, Mike Ross, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian, Jackson, MS, draws upon James I. Packer's Theology of Revival that can be gleaned from the pages of Scripture and observed in the records of history. "What we have to look into," Packer observes, "is not the outward forms that revival has taken in history, but the inward patterns of God's reviving work as presented in the Bible. The biblical evidence falls into three main categories. First, there are the prayers for revival. Second, there are prophetic pictures of revival. Third, there are narratives of revival." Our 50 Days of Prayer author, Mike Ross of Trinity Church in Jackson, Mississippi, has expanded Packer's categories to seven. In this year's devotional guide we will pray through the promises, pictures, prayers, principles, patterns, problems of and prelude to revival. Using the Word of God, the PCA will be called to pray together, "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" (Ps. 85:6)
Each daily devotional will also contain prayer requests from all the PCA agencies. For more information, or to order, click here, or call them at 1-800-283-1357 for more information. Pre-orders are due by March 24, 2006, and the devotional will be available April 5.
